He visited in his capacity as Chairman of the National Research Foundation
Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Mr Teo Chee Hean toured the Centre for Quantum Technologies on 26 September with a delegation from the National Research Foundation (NRF), Ministry of Education and Ministry of Finance.
See the pictures he shared from his visit, which also included a stop at our neighbouring Centre for Advanced 2D Materials, on his Facebook page (above).
Professor Tan Chorh Chuan, President of the National University of Singapore, hosted the visit with CQT’s Deputy Director Lai Choy Heng, Principal Investigators and staff.

CQT research projects highlighted during the visit included:
- participation in the NUS-Singtel Cyber Security R&D Laboratory
- work on quantum satellites towards global quantum communication networks
- an atomic clock being designed with the goal of being the world’s most accurate
- devices built at the Centre including a quantum random number generator and ion traps
DPM Teo previously visited CQT in 2012.
